More and more people every day are turning to composting as a way of creating organic planting media for flowers, fruits and vegetables. But it isn't as well-known that sifting the compost is a key to making the process work. Our Soil Sifters are perfect for this purpose, allowing you to sift out the bits and pieces that often make compost difficult to work with. Any of our Sifters will work well with your homemade compost.
It isn't really necessary to use a rotary sifter or something that moves, since smoothing the material around with your gloved hands works just fine and avoids the problem of forcing things through the screen that don't belong there! The important thing is to decide what sort of container you're going to sift the compost INTO. (You shouldn't assume that you will simply sift it directly into the garden, because this isn't easy to do logistically.) Choose something that is easy for you to work with, whether something as small as a bucket or as big as a wheelbarrow. If you don't find a Sifter on our list that you think will work for you, please ask us and we'll try to make one for you!
